Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou is the youngest of four children born August 9th, 1976 from Beaumont Puy of Domme. Audrey Tautou's parents who work as dentists as well as a teacher at school, have encouraged and supported her from the beginning of her passion for theatre and drama. The initial goal of her to become a master monkey was surpassed by her desire to further study drama and theatre. Her meteoric rise as an actress in her early years quickly and was accompanied with early success. After her graduation in 1998, she participated in a French talent-scouting television program called Jeunes Premiers with the support of Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors prior to beginning her acting career fully. Tautou went to The Institut Catholique de Paris, and attended the Catholic Church as an infant. In the past, she's distanced herself with this background. She has stated that she is not legally Catholic. In addition to acting, she did modeling, and was the model for L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. Additionally, she is a keen interest in photography and recently put on an exhibit of work for the Arles Festival under the title Superficial. Her work is mostly focused on the spotlight and celebrities and will focus to the journalists who watched her in the wake of her rapid popularity as Amelie along with a series of self-portraits. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom and international fame with her first major role starring as the main character in the film Le Fabuleux Destin de l'Amelie Poulain. Amelie won international acclai box commercial success, and received acclaim in awards shows across the globe. Amelie has been the most successful movie in French language productions in the US. Following this massive success, Tautou starred in several films, including British dramatics, such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long dimanche de fiancailles. She also starred alongside Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
