Kristen Noel Kristy Swanson is an American actress who gained fame by playing Buffy Summers in the cult film Buffy the Vampire SlayerRebecca Becky Granger in the telefilm Nightingales and the short-lived NBC show with the identical nameErica Paget in CBS Drama Early Edition and Marlowe Viccellio in Psych. Being a native of California she was attracted to acting from the time she was a child. The path she took to become an actor began with advertising, where she appeared in commercials for a number of companies. The first time she appeared on television was an NBCs It's Your Move sitcom show that aired in 1984. She debuted on the big screen two years laterin the 1986 romantic comedy Pretty in Pink. Swan is most well-known for her blonde hair and the breathless voice she uses. Since then Swan has been acting in secondary roles. Flowers in the Attic earned her the Young Artist Award in the Horror or Mystery Motion Picture category in 1989.
